A financial contribution will be provided if:
- is a person with a disability dependent on a comprehensive assessment to compensate for increased dietary expenses = if they have a disease or disorder listed in Annex no. 5 of the Law,
- if the Office of Labor, Social Affairs, and the Family issues a decision on the granting of a financial contribution and this decision becomes valid.
Financial contribution cannot be provided:
- a disabled person who is provided with a year-round residential social service (except for providing social services in a shelter, halfway home, emergency housing facility, supported housing facility, or social service facility for a certain period not exceeding 30 days),
- if the income of a disabled person is higher than three times the amount of the subsistence minimum.
An application for a financial allowance shall be made in writing form to the Office of Labor, Social Affairs and Family according to the applicant's place of residence. The application must state the reasons.

The amount of the cash contribution is monthly:
- 18,56 % living wage amount for one adult, which is € 38.07 , for the diseases and disorders listed in the list in Group I.,
- 9,28 % living wage amount for one adult, which is € 19.04 , for the diseases and disorders listed in the list in Group II.,
- 5,57 % living wage amount for one adult, which is € 11.43 , for the diseases and disorders listed in the list in Group III..
If a person with a disability is reliant on compensating for increased dietary expenses due to having several diseases and disorders classified into different groups, they will be provided with a financial contribution equal to the most expensive diet in terms of classifying the disease or disorder.
Entitlement to a financial contribution and to its payment arises from a valid decision of the relevant Office of Labor, Social Affairs, and Family to grant it.
The financial contribution:
- shall be granted and paid from the first day of the calendar month in which the procedure for the cash allowance for compensation is initiated,
- is provided for the entire calendar month, even if the conditions for entitlement have been met for only part of the calendar month,
- is paid monthly in retroactively.
Entitlement to the financial contribution expires:
- if it was provided unlawfully or if its provision ceased to fullfill its purpose,
- if the facts decisive for the duration of entitlement to this financial contribution change (for example, if the person with a disability is no longer a person with a disability after reassessing the health state or the value of the property of a disabled person is higher than € 39,833),
- by the date of death of the person with a disability to whom this financial benefit was provided.
If the financial contribution to compensate for the increased expenses was granted before the death of the person, the amounts not paid by the date of their death shall not be paid.
